An Update on HIV Prevention

To a lecture that will empower health care professionals and change the course of HIV

This is open to nurses and physicians

2 CME credits will be provided to physicians

Speakers:

Dr. Anthony Jones – is in private practice, providing HIV medicine specialty care and outpatient primary care services in Oakland, Ca. He is a clinical instructor for Samuel Merritt University.

Dr. Lisha Wilson – formerly served as medical director and clinician for AIDS Healthcare Foundation the largest provider of HIV care in the US. She currently is in private practice with Dr. Anthony Jones in Oakland, Ca.

Objectives of the lecture:
-review latest epidemiological trends in HIV infection, including local trends.
-review latest recommendations for HIV screening treatment and management
-review available tools for HIV transmission prevention
-define PreP (Pre-exposure Prophylaxis) and its available form of treatment, and the data behind the approval.
-discuss appropriate candidates for PreP
